today i got an email from my dad telling me that my grandfather has gotten worse. i couldn't get my dad on the phone before class but when i got home he told me that he isn't going to make it. i'm coming home early tomorrow morning to see him.

when i got home from class tonight, after telling Graeme about the email this afternoon, there was a bottle of wine and a box of cookie dough/brownie ice cream waiting for me that him and Mike had bought.

Graeme also went through the garbage to find my drivers license that i accidently threw out almost three weeks ago. i have a perfect roommate.

i'll be home tomorrow. and will be back on thursday.

... and, OF COURSE, I love to be kept informed about the crazy happenings within Paul David Doucette's life.

And to be told who is the REAL voice of Shredder. How shocking.

distraction distraction boobastion.

Blogs are nerdy and I like them.

I like being able to know that Sarah got into school and a horny cat somehow made its way into Darcy's home. I also like to know that Jillian has creepy dreams and I can see pretty pictures of Winnie.

They are also a perfect distraction for when you have to stay inside all day writing a paper in your pjs while injesting as much coffee as you possibly can before your stomach cracks from the acid.

Sigmar Polke & my new roomie.

Measuring Clothes (1994)

I Don't Really Think About Anything Too Much (2002)

Table Turning (1981)

and
Raised Chair with Geese (1988)

Papppppppier. I know there are a couple of people that I said I would call, and keep saying that I will call. But I've been spending my time writing (or preparing to write) a paper on Sigmar Polke's Raised Chair with Geese, which I choose randomly from my art history text. After reading how crazy he is I've really grown to like him.

I've also been spending time with my new roommate Graeme (on the left):

In real life he doesn't look that scary. Please don't ever tell him I posted a picture of him on the internet. Or Mike either.

He moved in on Sunday, the night I found out my Grampy was really sick. It was kind of awkward because I was so upset, but he was nice to me and distracted me with a movie. We've spent a lot of time watching tv and movies, and drinking and making food. He makes me laugh. He also has a great film collection and is going to teach me to like horror movies. Maybe I'll finally be able to fall asleep with the light off after I watch one.

My grampy is doing better. He is still in the hospital but is pretty alert and was sitting up yesterday. I found out yesterday that my brother Mike was home to visit him. My parents told me that if he gets worse again they will fly me home to see him. I hope that doesn't have to happen.

Alright. I've wasted enough time distracting myself with pictures. This paper is due at 6 and I'm not even close to being done.

Hopefully this weekend I'll finally be able to talk to everyone that I've been meaning to talk to. Sarah? Kate? Jillian? When would be good times to call this weekend?

Sarah - I really want to talk to you about getting into to school! That's really awesome. I hope you got my message yesterday.

Aiight, WORD!

Spring Break!

I forgot to invite you to Montreal for Spring Break. I talked to Sarah and she said her and Krista can probably come! Yeayea. I hope you can.

My spring break is from the 17th to the 27th, but even if your spring break is at a different time (Jillian?) come whenever you can.

It will be fun, and probably cold. But more fun than cold.

Maybe you'll find your dream date.

a beauty room.

Back in Montreal Montreal Mmmmmmmontreal in my new huge gigantic room!

It's not as dark as it looks, its only because of my beautiful window.
Do you even want to see these?

Krista, everything nice in my room is from you...the painting, the pictures, and the nice calender you gave me for Christmas. You always buy the best pressies.

I bought sheets that were on sale from Urban Outfitters for curtains. They have horseshoes on them. I'm so proud of them because I don't have a lot of $$$ and they were real cheap. Cheaper than buying fabric.

Adriann moved out on Tuesday. Her last day we went shopping (of course we didn't buy anything) and then I walked her to the train station. She's moving to Waterloo to be with her boyfriend. She doesn't know anyone there so I'm sure I'll talk to her often.

Graeme drove his stuff to Montreal on Friday with his friend Paul. He moves in for good on Wednesday. It's going to be great. He is fun and we're are going to do fun house activities, like house crafts in the craft room (which is also my room):

We might make a cross-stitch together. And some collages. I want to make a cross-stitch with bling in it, right after I make my mittens with $ on them.

Graeme also brought some awesome stuff to put up on our walls. Like a framed picture of Michael Jackson. And a print of Tupac he bought in Jamaica over Christmas.

2006 is going to be a good year.

Happy new year biatches.

I know blog posts are only good when they're funny, but happy new years, bitches. Here are some blurry pictures in case you're lazy like me and don't feel like reading anything...

I got a digi for Christmas. I guess if you hung out with me on New Years you would know that already because I probably had my camera obnoxiously in your face. Oh well. You were drunk anyway. So, I can finally show you pictures where I live and all that shit when I go back to Montreal after two sleeps.

I love that picture of Krista givin er. And of the cooler nocturnal cousin. I also love how Sarah is always blurry in pictures cause she moves too much.

Aiiight. So two more sleeps in the nice guest bed. Not enough time. Before New Years time was dragging on. But I didn't see Krista enough. And now Kate M and Mark are back in town too.

I apologized to my parents this morning for how cranky I've been over the break. They just laughed and made some joke about how they hope I'm not like that with my friends. I can't say that I'm not. This break I've felt so argumentative, arguing about shit just cause I could. Sorrrry. I swear I don't care about Arthur Golden.

So, Karoke on Tuesday? Breakfast on Wednesday? More OC watching and trips to the D-town Starbucks? Any sleepovers?

Sarah, I wish I could post some pictures from Karoke at Monte's the other night but they're too dark and mysterious. Tuesday. Hopefully our new friends will be there. And we won't get hit with a club.

Merry Christmas!

Home and happy. Home and happy except Mike is far away and having a hard time. It's hard to help people over the phone. Need to see people face to face...

Well, home and happy besides. Happy to see everyone. Everyone with funny voices and funny accents. And dances with skulls. Laughing so hard that I pee my pants. Gyno Vigino Dinos, of course.

At first home was strange. Some things still seem so familar. Sometimes I forget that I was gone. Other times it is all I can think about. Living with the parents is strange. Frustrating for no reason. But Kira is in Halifax. And that is who I will be spending the next three days with. Her first Christmas. Her first Santa. Wanna see what she looks like now? Of course you do. Because she is so cute and I am so excited.

Yea, that's right.
I'm excited.

So excited I might just barf all over your face.

See you soon, darlings.

'smile at fortune, with two so knit to thee!'

I AM DONE!!! I finished schooooool last Wednesday with my Art History exam that I had studied and studied and studied for. After the exam I got my exam about a painting by De Witte at the Musee des Beaux-Arts in Montreal. I got an A-, which is great considering I wrote it the night before, well, the whole night before. That seems to be the way I did most of my work this semester. New Years resolution: don't skip class and don't leave everything to the last possible minute. (What are YOUR resolutions?)

Since I've finished school I've locked myself up in my house with Adriann and Mike, and while Mike studies Greek Mythology, me and Adriann have been knitting up a S-T-O-R-M. I'm knitting mittens for Mike for Christmas and I'm so proud of how they are turning out. Yea, I'm really excited. I'm a nerd.

It's been so niiice! Me and Adriann have watched hours and hours of tv while in our pjs. We've watched the whole first session of Twin Peaks, which is absolutely amazing, and the last few episodes of Six Feet Under. It's been so nice sitting inside, knitting and watching tv while it snows outside. I plan on spending the rest of my week before I get home just like this. I needed time in Montreal without anything to do before I go home. I wanted to spend time with Adriann before I leave. She is awesome and is moving out in January. When I get back in January she is only going to be here for a few days... Mike's friend Graham is going to move in, who is also awesome, but I'm going to miss her. She understand's what it is like to be anxious about ridiculous things, how it feels to have no one hear you all the time and tell you that you mumble, and what it feels like to feel uncomfortable if you don't wear black. She makes me laugh and I wish everyone at home could meet her.

When me and Adriann get sick of tv we listen to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. It's made me feel like I am still at home sitting in Krista's room, except Krista isn't here to make me tea and lend me comfy pants.

I'm so excited to come home. I'll be home on Thursday. At 12:30 to be exact. Jillian! When do you come home on Thursday?! Maybe we'll be at the airport at the same time - although that sounds impossible. I tried to call you yesterday, but didn't catch you. I'll try again today. It's been too long and I want to talk to you before we both go home. Sarah - I called you too! I want to know how you're doing. And I wanna know your secrets. Tell your secrets!! I also just wanted to hear you and Nicole sing a lil song. Hardy har har. Nicole! Money to come. I'll have it ready on Thursday! Oh - And just a warning. I don't have any money to buy pressies for peeps so expect something made. Hopefully it will work out. CHRISTMAS!

So?! Party? Friday? Thursday?

There is so much I want to do when I get home! I want to sit in Krista's room and drink tea, I want to read with Jillian while drinking coffee. I want to get dressed up and sing Christmas songs and make ginger bread houses and play with Kira and drink rum and egg nog and dance and hang out with everyone that I've missed. I want to take my car and pick up my friends on Christmas when everyone needs a break. I want to knit and have a stitch and bitch night with wine and champagne. And roadtrips! And everything else Sarah mentioned!

What do YOU guys want to do?

Yea! Yea! I'm excited. And happy. There few months have gone by so quickly. It has been great to be in a new city. Especially when I see people that in Halifax would make me crazy, but here, it doesn't seem to matter at all. I've met wonderful people here that are fun and nice and who know how to take care of people when you are away from home and missing everyone that you looooooove. I also just met a few girls that want me to teach them out to knit while drinking wine.

So. Thursday. Until then I'm going to knit and read and learn about Greek Mythology while drinking espresso's from Stuart's espresso's maker. In my pjs. Right now.

Peace out!

If you say this 10 times while eating a pineapple good luck will come to you.

- Mr. Pernelly
Chris and Ben left this morning. It was a good weekend. Saturday I got to see Plants and Animals play. It was nice to see Devon. Sunday we didn't do much. Had breakfast, had dinner, drank and smoked. Unfortunately I was so stressed about a group presentation this morning that I didn't really get to hang out today before they left...I felt bad about it until I got home from class I saw this note from Chris. Just wanted to share it with you because of its touching, and because it DOES bring good luck.

PS - Anthony Goicolea is another artist that Mike showed me. He composes pictures that are duplicate images of himself as a boy. They're great. I like Detention Series and You & What Army the best.

'you got a smile so bright, you could have been a candle. i'm holding you so tight, you know you could have been a handle.'

KIRA

is

the

CUTEST!

And she's going to be in Halifax this Christmas!

She DOES look like a Roger...

but its late in the day, and you're well on your way.

Last weekend Kate R (the most awesomest) came to visit. She drove down with Mike's friends, Joseph and Graeme, from Toronto, who are also awesome. It was such a good weekend. Drunk an hour after she arrived, a stupid game (which made me real cranky), karoke, breakfast, a hike up an icy mountain, dancing... Thanks for coming to visit, Kate. I really miss you and it was awesome to feel like we were roomies again for a bit.

Three awesome weekends in a row.
And now I'm poor.

Chris P is suppose to be here this weekend, although, just like Chris, I have no idea when he is coming. I can't wait to hear dickydickybumbum and condopock a hundred times in 48 hours.

Last weekend, after Kate left and I almost cried...me, Adriann, Todd, and Mike watched two movies, Palindromes and In the Realm of the Unreal. Just wanted to tell ya all cause they're G-R-E-A-T. Palindromes was fucking hilarous, and although I only got to see 20 mintues of the Henry Darger documentary it also looked amazing.

Krista, this is the artist I was telling you about today. The pictures are creepy and weird and awesome. He was a janitor in the the 1970s, and when he died they found thousands of pictures, as well as a story feature seven blond sisters called In the Realm of the Unreal...

Today I woke up to see big snow flakes falling from the sky. It's been a good day. I've done nothing but send emails to people that I love and miss, and read Motherless Brooklyn in my pjs.

Sarah, I hope yer doing a-ok. See you in a month.

'watch the snow while night falls, and stay here til november is thru...'

Thanks for the link, Krista. I really like her paintings, especially this one. How did you find her? I'm not sure why I like this one over the rest. Maybe because these are the cutest kids. Did you notice that she has painted some more?

I also really like these...

i've told so many cities about you.

Like I awesomely predicted, last weekend was FUCKY. Sarah arrived Thursday night. We had just enough time to grab a coffee (so I could grill her with questions), drop her stuff off at my house, and then head to the Cons show (which was great). Sarah got to meet all my friends in about 5 minutes, as well as a very drunk Mike who acted like he knew everyone - although Sarah really couldn't tell the difference. A lot of the night was spent hugging her while talking in funny voices, sire.

Saturday we went dancing. I drank and smoked so much that I got sick, while Sarah made some fucky drunk posts. Dancing was fucky hot. And Shamu too. That could have been a much better night if I hadn't asked a real awkward question and gotten an answer I hadn't expected. Thanks for listening to me, Sarah, while I had the spins...

Sunday we went to the Musee d'Art Contemporain and made fun of some art videos. Well, I just laughed really hard while Sarah sat there... FUCKY.

Sarah - it was great having you in town. I'm happy you got to meet all the peeps. Could you send me those pictures?

Krista - thanks for the care package. The picture is up in our bathroom, and the cd is still in my computer. I wish I could do this to you right now:

Nicole - Thanks for the film. A letter with $$$ will be sent shortly. Real short.

Next weekend Kate Robertson is COMING TO TOWN! I love all these visitors. Sooooon I'll be in D-town.

WORD to the (honesty) BIRD.

Thursday, November 03, 2005

you go out looking for trouble, sooner or later and the trouble finds you.

Sarah is coming to visit today and I can't even tell you HOW EXCITED I AM!

aHHHHHHHHH!

I promise, Sarah, that I'll pay more attention to you than I am in this picture... It's the only one I have of you since my computer was stolen. Maybe we can take some pictures with your digi.

Thanks, Krista, for sending me a care package. I wish you were coming too...

Cons tonight tonight. It's going to be a good weekend.
